Who’s Who

I started working at Elaine Stewart's in 1994. I know what you're thinking;  I don't look old enough !! ( ha ! ha !)

I love working for Elaine and Kay as much as I did when I started as a young trainee. I have been given many opportunities working at Elaine Stewarts with continuous training in a strong and thriving industry.

I am now working front of house and i'm in charge of the salon social media. Having worked first hand as a stylist for many years, i know what makes our salon thrive. It is an exciting opportunity to enhance this side of the business and continue to grow my skills. I am here as the first point of contact for our clients and can advise on all of our products which will help you maintain your looks at home.

I am a Redken specialist. Cut and condition are so important. Using the right products enables you to give internal and long lasting nourishment to the hair and scalp. This will give your hair amazing shine and movement that everyone will envy. So i look forward to welcoming you soon.

Lorraine
Lorraine

Hello my name is Lorraine Rigby and I have had the pleasure of working at Elaine Stewart’s since 1999.  What fun it has been as well ! I have been hairdressing for over 20 years and can honestly say that I love the job more today than the first day I started.

My job is varied, as each client is an individual. I love listening to the wants and needs of each client . However I will always give my honest and experienced opinion. I enjoy all aspects of the job, but mostly aspire to being creative with cutting and colouring ( and no that doesn’t mean scissor happy ). It just keeps each day interesting.

I am also passionately involved in the 'My New Hair' side of the business, working with people with medical hair loss. Trevor Sorbie is the ambassador and we have all had the pleasure of meeting him here at the salon. An inspirational person!! Please read about this on the seperate page.

I enjoy doing photographic and show work and have worked on 'The clothes show' which was a brilliant experience.

At the salon, we have a fab team and work in a great atmosphere ( believe me I've worked in a few salons). We all get on so well and are like one big happy family. I am a friendly, honest, chatty and bubbly person and look forward to meeting you all soon.

Anna

From being a little girl I’ve always wanted to be a hairdresser. I started hairdressing straight from school.  I have worked at Elaine Stewart's since 2005 and have been hairdressing since 2003.

I enjoy all aspects of the job. I love working on different styles and learning new techniques. If pushed to decide I must admit that I enjoy colouring hair the most, each is equally as important. I did the colour on Kay's male model in the Redken hair competition. Being part of that winning team has really given me a taste for competition and I'm looking forward to entering more.

We are a close team and all support eachother with whatever we are doing. Everyday is different and there will always be new styles and techniques to learn keeping the industry alive.

Attending hair shows, creating our own shows, photographic and competition work makes the salon an amazing place to work and grow. Being in this environment enables us to continually grow and for me personally as a stylist, it makes me more and more determined to be the best I can be. We are lucky to have a wide range of clients and personalities coming through our door on a daily basis ,and this for me keeps my imagination flowing with ideas. I love the fashion industry that we are in and the ever changing styles we are fortunate to create and be involved in. Here at the salon we hold workshops to keep on growing our skills. This allows our creative juices to flow freely and really expand our minds. So come along for a free consultation and I will create something new and exciting for you.

Melissa
Melissa

Hello, my name is Melissa and I qualified as a hairdresser in 2004.  I joined the team at Elaine Stewart's in 2005.

I enjoy all aspects of hairdressing; cutting, colouring, blow-drying, party hair, wedding hair. I put 100% into everything I do and I get a great deal of enjoyment and satisfaction out of seeing a client happy with the final result.

I am also a professionally trained 'Balmain' hair extension technician. Balmain are the best quality hair extensions today. We as a salon chose Balmain, as they like us strive to achieve beautiful hair whilst keeping it in the best possible condition. The transformation is fantastic, whether it be for colour, volume, length or all of the above. This ever evolving industry keeps my passion for my job alive and i think this is portrayed in my everyday work. If you come to me you can be sure to get attention to detail and leave feeling like a new you. I am also the resident Wella Master Color Expert, were i underwent extended training in colour technology to enhance and grow our colour portfolio. From creative colour to colour correction, i'm your girl.

Hair ups and wedding hair are also a real forte of mine. Getting to create something individual, striking and unique makes you as a client look and feel amazing for that special occassion.

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile, see you soon.

Hello, I have been a practising Beauty Therapist for over 20 years. During that time I have worked and managed busy spas all over the North West. I moved to Bermuda in 2001 to work in  a city spa . Over the years that I was there I built up a large client base of locals and ex-pats, with ongoing training in new therapies throughout.

I've been involved in teaching beauty therapy to students and personally updating and refreshing my knowledge in the field.

It was my responsibility to establish the Beauty Rooms here at Elaine Stewart's and was my reason for returning home to the North West.

Building the Beauty Therapy side of the business, working with Elaine and the girls as a team, continues to be immense fun and very rewarding to me. Since becoming part of the team I've introduced  many new aspects of beauty therapy. I am an advanced skincare specialist and working with Dermalogica enables me to gain amazing and lasting results with any skin conditions that I am presented with.

Over the years beauty treatments have progressed rapidly, I have always aimed to keep up with and evaluate these new trends . As a result i offer Caci ?treatments, which can treat even the most sensitive of skins, semi permanent make up offering the perfect brow, shellac nails, the latest trend for natural nails.

I am also a strong believer in an holistic approach to beauty therapy and treating from within. I offer and enjoy giving Reiki treatments to heal and enhance my clients wellbeing.

Please take some time to look at all the treatments available, ranging from waxing to Reiki, for both men and women. I look forward to meeting you soon here at Elaine Stewart's.

Emma

Hi, I'm Emma. I have worked at Elaine Stewart Hair & Beauty since 2009. I can honestly say I love my job. I enjoy every part of hairdressing, from washing hair, blow drying to cutting and colouring. I enjoy doing photographic work, we are always challenging ourselves to do more and to achieve the best. The photoshoots we do give us opportunity to be imaginative and are great for team spirit as we get to bounce ideas around and think out of the box. I like to socialise with friends but am also a homebird and love snuggles on the couch with my family.

I like a challenge, so if you're in need of a fresh, new style and some new ideas come to me!! Look forward to seeing you soon.

Kay

Hi, I'm Kay Stewart - Cooney. I have been hairdressing since 1998 . Although as Elaine is my mum you can say that I''ve grown up involved in this fantastic industry, it's definitely in the blood. Along with my mum, Elaine, I am proud to be a director of  Elaine Stewart Hair and Beauty.

I am outgoing, fun loving and the responsible one in the team. I organise our team building activities and make sure everyone enjoys them. I am loyal, caring and always there to listen whenever a friend needs a confidant. I try to use my head but usually my heart takes over, especially where family and friends are concerned. I put 100% into whatever I do and I am proud and extremely privaleged to have a wonderful family and career that I really love.

Hairdressing is a passion for me and to bring confidence to my clients through a hair cut is a fantastic feeling. The transformation a hairstyle can bring is second to none. It can completely change your image and make you feel like a new you!

Here at the salon we have a great team of dedicated professionals. We are a family unit and work together to ensure every part of your experience with us is special.

I am inspired by Vidal Sassoon but also by 'Elaine Stewart' my mum and my colleagues. Each and every day brings something different which ensures the motivation behind what we do. We bounce off eachother, constantly building ideas, doing photographic work and allowing the creative juices to flow.

Hair fashion and music are one and the same. I love the eclectic style of Gwen Stephani and the fantastic designs of Vivienne Westwood. If I could cut anyones hair it would be Coco Chanel I would use the opportunity to ask her she came up with her designs. She is a true inspiration to women in the fashion industry, i love her quote - " In order to be irreplacable one must always be different". So true!

I reached the final at the Redken NYC awards 2010 in the male category, working along side leading international stylists such as Andrew Barton. This experience gave me a taste of success and encouraged me to always strive to do the best that I can.

My guilty pleasure are clothes, I like to have my own style and this carries through to everything I do.
